Beatitudes Series Part 1-   The Pursuit of Righteousness 

It’s no secret that the pursuit of happiness is a priority for most people. In his teaching on the Beatitudes, Jesus turns the world’s view of happiness upside down (actually right side up) as he reveals principles of God’s Kingdom that bring true and lasting joy—which is far more satisfying than the temporary happiness that comes from earthly pleasures. 

In Matthew 5:6 Jesus declares, “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.” This encouraging message reveals the principle, the pathway and the promise of God’s blessing. If we want our lives to be filled with the right things—we must cultivate hunger and thirst for the right things. Because whatever we are ‘hungry’ for—is what will eventually fill our lives.
